Each of these HVAC installations needs to be carefully planned before HVAC installers can start their air con or furnace installation. Among things that need to be carefully planned are:

Sizing of the furnace and the air conditioner.
Matching all cooling and heating units.
Ductwork modification to accommodate for the new heater and air con and more efficient furnace filter.
Improving the air purifier & furnace filter. Most of the old furnaces have a 1" wide filter. It's unacceptable for new furnaces and air conditioners that need much higher airflow. An old style 1-inch furnace filter would be too restrictive for the air flow. It would cause noise, the blower motor's wear and tare due to higher speed, and extra hydro costs. Btw, this is the most difficult thing to convince buyers.

The same applies to running refrigerant lines and electrical lines for air conditioners and heat pumps.
Condensate removal from furnaces and air conditioners needs to be taken care of as well. These days even water heaters produce condensate - high efficiency tankless water heaters aka on-demand water heaters.

It depends on how many units need to be installed. Typically, each unit takes between 4-6 hours, so 2 units can be installed in one day. In most cases, we can install up to 3 units, same day. For example, a furnace plus an air conditioner and plus a tankless water heater we can install in one day.
